Foster update 2/25/11
Stasja (Smiley) is off and on. We don't have children, but she will do fine with cats or small dogs. Anyone that comes at her quickly she will run away from. Stasja has been on meds a few weeks now, Jimmy just uped the dosage as Carol suggested, and that seems to be helping. She crates almost to well. She would rather be in a crate than out in the open, but she does sit with Jimmy at night, and she sleeps upstairs with our dogs. Her potty manners are impecable. She has not had an accident once. She will definately follow another dog, another Borzoi would be even better. I would say her perfect home would be a retired couple where the man would not mind getting involved with her care. "Much to her dislike I have been taking care of her the last couple of days. I am still working on the TTouch around her ears and that seems to help her, Primarily because I am putting my hands on her. I think she to may regress a bit if much travel is invoved and just getting used to the new parents, but I feel if she had a place where she knew she was at home and the people were loving and PATIENT she would begin to blossom. I trully believe behind those eyes of hers she wants to be trusting and loving. Jimmy says she will play with him a bit a night. Pawing at him, and doing what we call snuffing (she sticks her nose in his hair and sniffs). I will definately try to get new pictures of her. She is so beautiful and graceful.
She is currently in MD and shipping is not advised for this dog. A home with in a day's drive would be best.
